On 15th March 2006, ERGEG launched a public consultation on Guidelines for Good Practice on Information Management and Transparency in Electricity Markets (C05-EMK-06-10). These Guidelines seek to establish a consistent approach to the provision of market related information to wholesale market participants - suppliers, generators, energy traders, large customers and demand side participants - across Member States. The Guidelines set out ERGEG’s views on the required level of transparency that shall at the minimum be in place across the European market. Moreover, they are intended to give a minimum set of rules required for the organisation of information and its dissemination across the European market. Finally, they define general principles governing information release, either through publication or through information released to market participants on request.
ERGEG invites stakeholders to comment on issues raised in the Guidelines related to the general requirements on transparency and to the specification of the required transparency of information on: a) Load b) Transmission and Access to Interconnections c) Generation d) Balancing and e) Other Information from the Wholesale Markets.
Following the public consultation period, ERGEG will publish all comments received from stakeholders. If a respondent would like ERGEG to treat their contribution with confidentiality then this must be explicitly mentioned in their submission. Any comments should be received by 10th May 2006 and should be sent by email to transparency@ergeg.org.
Any question to this document should in the first instance be directed to: Mrs. Una Shortall Email: una.shortall@ceer-eu.org Fax +32 2 788 73 50 Tel. +32 2 788 73 30
