GENERAL INFORMATION

KEY ACHIEVEMENTS SO FAR - May 2007

General issues:

  • The South REM has already agreed a concrete Action Plan for the coming two years.
  • Several IG and SG meetings have taken place and different deliverables set up by the work plan are on track.  

Priority I: Interconnection Capacity

  • The analysis of the current status of the interconnection infrastructures was presented by TSOs at the 2nd SG meeting in February 2007.  
  • Work on new infrastructure needs is going on and a first report for the period 2007-2010 has been already discussed. A second paper will cover investment needs for 2007-2015.

Priority II: Interoperability

  • The French and Spanish NRAs have undertaken a joint study on interoperability problems at the Spanish-French border and an Interoperability WG has been set up for this purpose. A first meeting was held on April 17th and agreed steps are available at this meeting’s folder.  

Priority III: Transparency

  • The French and Spanish regulators both are working on a report on the current level of transparency in the region.

General issues

  • The South REM has already agreed a concrete Action Plan for the coming two years.

Priority I: Interconnection Capacity

 
  • The analysis of the current status of the interconnection infrastructures has been issued by the TSOs.

  • A study on new infrastructure needs is being undertaken, in two steps: 1st stage in the period 2007-2010 and a 2nd stage during the 2007-2015 period.

  •  The SG is being consulted about new interconnection needs.

Priority II: Interoperability 
  • The French and Spanish NRAs will undertake a joint study on interoperability problems at the Spanish-French border. A report on this issue for public consultation will be published by March 2007.
Priority III: Transparency 
  • The French and Spanish regulators both are working on a report on the current level of transparency in the region. This report will be available by February 2007.

General issues

  • The South REM has already agreed a concrete Action Plan for the coming two years.

Priority I: Interconnection Capacity

 
  • The French and Spanish TSOs will deliver an assessment report on the current status of the interconnections by the end of December 2006.

  • A questionnaire will be issued to shippers to assess the need of new interconnection capacity.
Priority II: Interoperability 
  • The French and Spanish NRAs will undertake a joint study on interoperability problems at the Spanish-French border. A report on this issue for public consultation will be published by March 2007.
Priority III: Transparency 
  • The French and Spanish regulators both are working on a report on the current level of transparency in the region. This report will be available by February 2007.
